SAFETY, DIGNITY, INDEPENDENCE
Women are agents of change. Especially in crisis and developing communities, women can be a catalyst to moving things forward. At the same time they carry much of the burden of everyday life considerably hindered by camp conditions. A still largely male dominated humanitarian system often inherently fails to recognise and meet their needs.
In Greece, women with children who are seeking reunification with their husbands in the rest of Europe, are not given accommodation outside the camps like families in the relocation scheme. That keeps them in particularly vulnerable situations for long periods of time.
Our Empower Women program will aim at supporting women with targeted initiatives that will improve their living situation, will give emergency support where needed and empower women to unleash their potential to bring their entire communities together.
